Artec 3D

Frequently Asked Questions

Artec Studio is Artec 3D’s all-in-one professional 3D scanning and photogrammetry software. It handles capture, alignment, mesh processing and export, and supports modeling and inspection work, so for straightforward jobs many users never need a second package.

We currently sell Artec Studio 20.

Usually yes, because they do different jobs.

Artec Studio is where raw scan data becomes a clean, usable mesh. Inspection software such as Geomagic Control X or PolyWorks|Inspector takes it from there to compare against CAD and produce reports. Reverse-engineering tools such as Geomagic Design X or QuickSurface turn it into editable CAD geometry. Studio sits at the front of that pipeline rather than competing with the back of it.

It is built for Artec hardware, and that is where it is strongest.

If you are running a mixed fleet, tell us which scanners are in it and we will tell you where Artec Studio fits and where you would be better served by something else. We would rather do that than sell you a licence that fights your hardware.

Often, yes. Manufacturers frequently offer trial or demo versions, and we can usually set one up for you. Give us a shout and tell us what you would want to test.

Yes. Artec Studio is approachable, but training tends to pay for itself in scan quality and time saved.

We provide it hands-on or hands-off depending on how your team prefers to learn, and we remain available afterwards as your support liaison.
